Belmont Hotel Manila Philippines Review
Belmont Hotel Manila Introduction
Today’s hotel review is on the Belmont Hotel Manila located in the Newport City area of the Pasay District Manila, Philippines.
Belmont Hotel Manila is a four star luxury hotel.
The Belmont Hotel Manila is right next to the Manila International Airport (NAIA). In fact, the hotel is directly across the road from NAIA Terminal 3 and runway.
Newport City is recently redeveloped residential and commercial area situated next to the Villamor Air Force Base and golf course. As we stated above, it is also next to Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). It was developed by Megaworld Corporation under its subsidiary Megaworld Newport Property Holdings, Inc. and also includes the hotel casino called Resorts World Manila.
We stayed in the Belmont Hotel Manila for two nights before Lea and Lloyd came to the United States after getting their visas.
We specifically chose Belmont Hotel Manila for several reasons including:
- The hotel is right next to NAIA Terminal 3.
- There is a rooftop pool.
- The Belmont Hotel is easy to get to from the Sky Tollway.
- There is free shuttle bus service to any of the three terminals.
- The Newport City area is new with lots of options for shopping and dining.
One new feature for Belmont Hotel Manila and NAIA Terminal 3 is an overhead walkway from the terminal to the Newport area of Manila.
The Newport area contain multi-use buildings of shops, restaurants, hotels, and a mall. Therefore, now you can walk from a hotel (including the Belmont Hotel Manila) directly to Terminal 3.
In short, we have good and not so good comments concerning our stay at Belmont Hotel Manila. To explain, see the rest of our review on Belmont Hotel Manila below.
Belmont Hotel Manila is found on Newport Boulevard, Newport City in the Pasay District of Manila, Philippines.
Check-in time is at 2:00 p.m. There is a service loop off from Newport Boulevard to pull onto when being dropped off by a taxi. Firstly, you are greeted by courteous staff. Finally, they escort you and take your luggage inside to check-in. Staff is always very helpful and courteous.
After check-in, a bell-hop shows you to your room and brings your luggage.
Once in the room, the bell-hop brings your luggage in for you and shows you all of the features of the room.
Belmont Hotel Manila has five different types of rooms
- Superior. The superior room is a normal king or two double bed hotel room.
- Deluxe. The deluxe room has more features like better bathroom amenities. Also, it has evening turn down with chocolate truffles.
- Corner Deluxe. The corner deluxe is a corner room with large glass windows on two sides. Therefore, you get a great view of the city. In addition, you get the same additional features as the deluxe room.
- Tranquility Deluxe. This room offers spa like amenities plus the normal things in a deluxe room. In addition, it offers organic bar items.
- Family Superior Deluxe. The family superior deluxe room offers two bedroom. It specifically has one king bedroom and a two double bedroom. This is great for a large family. In addition, this room offers turn down bed and an upgraded mini bar.
The hotel says that the rooms are compact, but modernly efficient. I agree that the rooms are efficient, clean and modern. However, compact is an understatement. I prefer to say too narrow and small. In fact, it is hard to get through the room with luggage. Moreover, if you have lots of luggage, there is very little room to store it.
The beds are very new and comfortable. The bathroom is very clean and modern
Bathrooms are clean and consist of a normal hotel bathroom with tub/shower, toilet and sink. In addition, the hotel offers free soap and shampoo.
The rooms are air-conditioned.
Wifi is free and available in all of the rooms.
Other Hotel Features
The hotel has the following other features:
- Roof-top outdoor swimming pool, kiddie pool and hot tub
- Poolside bar
- 24 hour fitness center
- Spa Massage treatments
- Sauna and steam room
- Free shuttle to NAIA
- Walking bridge to NAIA
The roof top pool and hot tub are my favorite part of Belmont Hotel Manila. The pool is new, clean and has plenty of room. Also, there are these lounge chairs built into the pool bottom along one side that are cool.
The hot tub is right next to the pool. Therefore, easily go from the pool to the hot tub.
Towels are provided for use. In addition there are plenty of lounge chairs and tables.
The pool side bar serves refreshing drinks.
We did not use the fitness center nor the sauna.
One of the main reasons why we chose Belmont Hotel Manila was because of its proximity to NAIA Terminal 3 and free shuttle bus service.
However, the shuttle bus service was not very efficient for us. Even though NAIA Terminal 3 is directly across the road from the Belmont Hotel Manila, it took us well more than an hour on the shuttle bus to get dropped off there. Firstly, the shuttle bus picked us up at the Belmont Hotel Manila. Secondly, the shuttle bus went to the New Resorts Word Manila to pick up more passengers. Then, the shuttle bus went to the Remington Hotel to collect passengers.
After that, we finally thought we were going to NAIA Terminal 3. However, we were wrong. In fact, the shuttle bus then went on a long ride to drop off passengers at NAIA Terminal 1. Then, it went to Terminal 2 to drop off passenger. Finally, after more than an hour, we arrived at Terminal 3 and could see the Belmont Hotel just across the road.
Our trip was before the new glass enclosed overhead walkway was constructed. Now, NAIA Terminal 3 is a short 5 minute walk across the overhead walkway from Belmont Hotel Manila.
Belmont Hotel Manila has two places to eat including Cafe Belmont and Latitude.
Cafe Belmont, Belmont Hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, has a modern minimalist interior and an international menu. Diners can relax and enjoy different dishes from around the world, whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Breakfast – 6am to 10am
All Day Dining – 11am to 11pm
We ate at Cafe Belmont only for breakfast. We were immediately sat down by hostess. However, that is where the good service ended. I cannot blame the staff though. The restaurant was full, but very understaffed. In fact, it took almost 15 minutes before someone came to greet us and offer coffee or other drinks.
The food was excellent. We chose to do the buffet breakfast and omelet station. There was lots of tasty choices from asian to western foods.
Again, the staff was so overwhelmed with the amount of people in the full restaurant. It seemed like forever before someone came to refill our coffees or water. The servers were just so busy because there was only three of them for a full restaurant. I blame that on management, not the servers. Hopefully, things have changed.
Craving for pastries, coffees, and an all-day breakfast? Naahim Bakery serves all these and more. Enjoy freshly baked breads and delectable beverages at any time.
Monday to Saturday – 6am to 11pm
