2017 In Review
LoveVisaLife is almost one year old. To begin with, we went online in January of this past year of 2017.
Why did we start our website and blog? Due to the fact, we found it very difficult in our visa process to find information on the US Visa System all in one place. Therefore, we wanted to help others by gathering this information and putting it in one place to share with others.
We had a great run in 2017. Initially, we began with nothing but an idea. Now, LoveVisaLife gets about 20,000 page views per month. However, it’s not the numbers that is important, but helping people with accurate information.
Actually, the LoveVisaLife concept began in September 2016. This is when Lea and Lloyd finally came to the USA on their visas. After going through the 8 month process of a spouse visa, we began to formulate the website and blog to help others go through the same thing. From September 2016 until January 2017, I began to learn how to use WordPress from scratch, write the basic content in our do it yourself K-1 Fiance Visa Pages and our IR-1/CR-1 Spouse Visa pages. For this purpose, we wrote for four months almost every early morning, evening and weekend to get the site ready to publish.
Then, in January 2017, we published the website and blog. In January, we had about 300 page views. We continued to write content and publish information and articles that we felt helped people. Then, each month, the website began to grow exponentially. Now, the site has seen over 20,000 page views per month and continues to grow.
We also created several social media pages to get the information out to others including our:
- Facebook page @loveVisaLife.
- Facebook Discussion Group- K-1 Fiance IR-1/CR-1 Spouse US Visa & Adjusting to USA Life- LoveVisaLife
2017 Thank You
There are so many people to thank for helping us throughout the year. Many thanks to people who taught me how to use WordPress.
Many thanks to Sir Albert for teaching us most of the things along our way. Thanks to Mal and Marissa Yaple for sending me information as they went through the Spouse Visa DCF process. Thank you to all the on-line visa help support people who I have learned from throughout the way. Also, thank yu to many of our readers that provide us with information along their journey.
However, I especially want to thank my wife Lea for putting up with me writing in the early morning, late nights and evenings. Also, to thank her for letting me take the time to help people individually through Facebook and Messenger. Thanks Sweetie.
2018 New Year Resolution Plan
Now, let’s talk about loveVisaLife’s 2018 New Year Resolution Plan.
Continue to Provide Accurate and Useful Information on Website and Blog
Firstly, our 2018 New Year Resolution is to continue to provide accurate and useful information on our website and blog.
Our Do-It-Yourself web pages on the K-1 Fiance Visa, IR-1/CR-1 Spouse Visa and US Spouse Visa by DCF Philippines summary pages are complete. In addition, each of these summary pages have sub-pages for each phase of the visa process. However, we plan to update these pages as any visa process changes. For example, we did this in February through April of 2017 when USCIS made major changes to forms.
We will continue to write informative blog posts on all the finer aspects of our site including:
- Love- Dating, engagement, marriage and long distance relationships.
- Visa- Navigating the US Visa system for Fiance and Spouse Visas.
- Life- Adjusting to new life in the USA including family, career, health, education, money matters and recreation.
- Other information including travel and shopping.
Secondly, our 2018 New Year Resolution is to launch a LoveVisaLife YouTube Channel in 2018.
In fact, we have already begun the initial set-up for the site.
There are several reasons why we want to also get our information out on YouTube including:
- Many people prefer to learn things by video rather than reading. Therefore, we want to also help these people.
- With the language barriers, YouTube videos and demonstrations can be easier than reading English.
- I am finding that it is better to instruct people how to fill out visa forms easier by video.
Thus, look for our LoveVisaLife YouTube Channel soon.
As most of you know, LoveVisaLife does not charge any consultant fees for our help to others.
There are costs associated with maintaining a good quality website and blog. Moreover, there is a lot of time involved.
In order to continue to provide great free content, we defray the costs with our site affiliates and ads.
If you need to buy something anyways like airline tickets, hotels, supplies to do your visa package, clothes, wedding gifts, or almost anything else, please consider using our site.
Therefore, we plan on developing a more robust LoveVisaLife store to help defray the time and cost of maintaining the site.
