Many people that meet through on-line dating change their story of how they met, but we are proud that we met through on-line dating. We met on a dating site called Filipino Cupid. We will delve into Filipino Cupid with guides and advice in later posts.
Kevin was looking for a friend, someone to talk with and possibly my future someone. Kevin was looking for someone kind, caring, loving, sweet, smart, funny, outgoing and supportive. Kevin has a friend that has a Filipina wife and she was all of this with him, so I decided to try my luck on Filipino Cupid.
Lea was single and had a son from a previous relationship that ended two years ago. Lea was dedicating herself to support her son as a single mom that had no support from her son’s father. Lea was working hard in her manufacturing job to support her son, herself and her family as the eldest daughter. She also felt a desire after two years to find her soul mate. Somebody that would love her for the rest of her life and accept her son as his own.
Kevin did a search on Filipino Cupid for a woman aged 30 – 49, doesn’t smoke (smoking is ugly), drinks moderately, and was ok if she had children. As Kevin was scanning through the profiles, Lea’s picture caught his eye along with one single word in her description. That word was fishing. She liked fishing.
Anybody that knows Kevin knows that his favorite activity is fishing. He will go fishing anytime, anywhere. He fishes all year round and loves it. He says all year round because where he lives in Vermont it is a cold climate and the lakes freeze here.
Kevin’s thumb immediately stopped the scanning and he checked her profile and pictures. He liked what he saw, especially that she liked fishing.
Kevin sent Lea a private message saying that he liked her profile and pictures. He also gave her some information about himself including that he loves fishing too.
Soon Kevin got a message back entitled “Hi Mr. Fisherman”. At that moment, he was hooked.
Lea wanted some more information from Kevin to make sure that he was not a scammer because she was leery that he only had one picture. Kevin wrote back with more information. He got a message back, “OK Mr. Fisherman, I think you are real.” Lea also sent Kevin information about herself which he liked because she seemed like the outgoing family type girl that he was looking for.
We soon began talking frequently by Filipino Cupid messenger, email and then with Skype. We talked everyday and then soon several times a day. Lea was not like any of the other women that Kevin talked with before on Filipino Cupid. She never asked me for money. She was never pushy like others that wanted me to come to the Philippines now!!!! Lea let Kevin get to know her slowly.
Every day it became more apparent to Kevin and Lea that they were the perfect match for each other. Kevin stopped talking to other girls that he met on Filipino Cupid and only talked with Lea from then on. Lea stopped talking to other guys on Filipino Cupid.
