Harbor View Restaurant, Luneta, Manila, Philippines
Review of Harbor View Restaurant
For our first food and restaurant review, we wanted to do a review of Harbor View Restaurant in Luneta, Manila, Philippines.
The Harbor View Restaurant is located directly behind Quirino Grandstand on Independence Road which is off from Roxas Boulevard. It is right next door to Hotel H2O and Manila Ocean Park.
See our review of Hotel H2O Here.
There is plenty of parking, if you are driving there. The restaurant is only a 2 minute walk from Hotel H2O, if you are staying there.
The restaurant is actually on Manila Bay as it sits on piers just off the shore of the bay. The seating is on a pier that juts out into the bay with an over head roof and open sides with a railing. Plastic sides can drape down in bad weather. Beautiful Asian style lights hang from the edge of the roof structure.
Days and Hours of Operation
The Harbor View Restaurant is open daily from 11:00 am to 2 pm, daily. Correspondingly, they serve lunch, dinner, brunch, and late night foods.
The restaurant is one of the most romantic places to eat in Manila as the view of Manila Bay, especially at sunset, is amazing. It is also very romantic a night with candles on the table, the ornate lighting and the water in the background.
Food and Drink
Their specialty is serving Filipino seafood dishes for lunch, dinner, brunch, and late night foods. Also, the restaurant also has a bar.
The food is amazing. Very authentic Asian dishes and especially Filipino seafood are their specialty. We had the garlic spawns, king fish with vegetables and of course rice. Fish with the head on of course, you are in the Philippines. Everything was delicious.
Also, lobster dishes, crab dishes, many fish dishes, chili prawns, squid, seafood rice and many more sea food options are served.
They also serve cold beer (classic Filipino San Miguel or Red Horse). The beer is very refreshing with the sunset and cool breeze. You can also get cocktails. They also have non-alcoholic drinks including some fresh juices.
The prices vary depending upon what you order. Dishes like lobster and crab are very expensive. You can find more reasonably priced dishes on the menu.
The service is very good. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The staff gives you water as soon as you are seated. They are very quick to get your order, or give you time if you need it. They ask you several times if you need anything and are quick to come to you if you look like you need anything.
This is where I learned the Filipino way of asking for you check or bill with the fingers making a rectangle, like a check, instead of saying check please like in the U.S.
We highly recommend Harbor View Restaurant to anyone that travels to Manila, especially if you are staying at Hotel H2O or visiting Manila Ocean Park.
