About Manila Ocean Park
The Manila Ocean Park is a wonderful place to visit with your loved one, family and kids. Beyond the entrance, the park brings the ocean and wonderful sea creatures all around you. Specifically, the Manila Ocean Park is an oceanarium that houses about 14,000 sea creatures from Southeast Asia.
To demonstrate why we mean all around you, look at the attraction of Manila Ocean Park. Here a fully enclosed tunneled glass underwater walkway with all sorts of sea creatures swimming above and all around you. Even sharks!!!!
The Park is located on the shores of Manila Bay in the Luneta District of Manila in the Philippines. Located directly behind Quirino Grandstand on Independence Road, the park is easy to find. Adjacent is the well known Roxas Boulevard.
The building and the grounds that the park occupies is also the home of Hotel H2O. Actually, the park and hotel are on Manila Bay as they sit together on the shore and on piers just off the shore of the bay.

The shows start at specific times so keep track of time and what show that you want to see when. Otherwise, other exhibits are open all the time during open hours.

The Oceanarium showcases approximately 14,000 marine creatures from around 277 species that live in the oceans and lands of the Philippines and Southeast Asia. In addition, the Oceanarium is a beautiful view of aquariums with many fish. Furthermore, the best and main attraction is the 25 meter long, 220° curved walkway tunnel with a spectacular underwater view of amazing sea creatures swimming overhead including sharks.
The in-take water for the Oceanarium is water from Manila Bay that filtered by a water treatment system. On account of the park’s educational mission, the treatment system is showcased for educational purposes. For that reason and the health of the creatures, a special process is done to ensure that the seawater is suitable to marine life.
The Oceanarium has an educational activity area, function rooms for special events and bi-level shark and stingray viewing facilities.
Lastly, but not least, there is also a fantastic exhibit with aquarium full of jelly fish. The room is dark which really enhances the stunning view of the jelly fish.
Sea Lion Show
The sea lions of Manila Ocean Park come from South America. To demonstrate the Sea Lions abilities, they put on a funny show with their trainers, In addition, the show also teaches valuable information on environmental conservation.
In order to protect you from the sun and rain, you sit in bleachers with an overhead roof to watch the outdoor show.
To perform for you, the sea lions put on a fantastic show and show off their special skills and unique characteristics.
Finally, after the show, you can even get a chance to get a kiss a sea-lion and get a souvenir photo.
Shark and Rays Encounter
At the shark and rays encounter, you can touch a friendly shark or ray as it passes you by. Here this dry encounter allows you to touch stingrays with only getting a little wet.
Besides the dry encounter, you can also pay extra to choose from Aquanaut, Full Body Encounter and Half Body Encounter for this once in a lifetime experience.
In addition, official Manila Ocean Park Photographers are available to document your experience for an additional fee.
Adjacent to the shark and ray encounter, you sit by a pool and put your feet in. Immediately, thousands of little fish come and eat all of your dead skin off your feet. Does this sound interesting? I passed on it, lol.
Trails to Antarctica
Manila Ocean Park has the only penguin park facility in the Philippines. Trails to Antarctica brings you closer to the coldest and most mysterious place on earth. Following the trail is a walk through the exhibit where you can learn more about the frozen continent, see live Humbold penguins and visit a freezing Snow Village.
Aquanaut Voyage is an underwater adventure using a special diving helmet that lets you breathe inside, as air is pumped from above the water level.
During this encounter, you are introduced to the marine life of Ocean Park. Under the guidance of a qualified diving instructor, this amazing underwater walking experience allows you to interact with sea creatures .
Birds of Prey Kingdom
The Birds of Prey Kingdom features one of the most stunning coastal raptors in the country. The Brahminy Kites (Haliastur indus) are locally known as Lawin in Tagalog and Banog in the Visayas region.
Here, inside this encounter, you view these bird up close and even feed them raw meat.
While inside the netted encounter, you wear a leather glove and the birds swoop down in flight and grab the meat out of your hand.
Have you ever had a dream to become a mermaid, lol? Here is your dream come true because the park the Mermaid Swim Experience for those who want to fulfill their dream to become a mermaid.
The experience is a 45 minute program featuring basic swimming, how to glide with a fish tail underwater and proper breathing techniques.
As part of the encounter, the high elastic mermaid monotails are colorful, comfortable and easy to wear.

Back of the House
The Back of The House experience is a tour behind the exhibited in how Manila Ocean Park is run. Through this experience, you see the Oceanarium’s operations and learn the science.
For instance, they explain how Ocean Park cares for it’s marine life and maintains the facilities.
Ultimately, this is a fun and educational tour for students and those who want to pursue higher learning in marine science.
All-Star Bird Show
The All-Star Bird Show features macaws, cockatoos and eagles. Here, they provide remarkable showmanship and high-flying thrills.
At this show, the birds provide awesome tricks, amazing stunts, guest participation. In addition, the birds provide an important environmental message for its audience.
Symphony Evening Show
The symphony evening show is like seeing fireworks, but better. To illustrate the theme, the show uses the earth’s 4 basic elements – water, fire, air and light. Meanwhile, the show ignites Manila Bay’s night sky with larger than life distinct characters from the sea.
Using the latest multimedia technology, Symphony is a majestic display of huge water fountains, the tallest in the Philippines reaching 40 meters or 120 feet. In addition, symphony has more depth, creating a 2D effect as you enter an ethnic and mysterious world filled with new entertaining animated marine life characters in breathtaking fluid motion and vibrancy.
Also, you can also watch it from a park view room at Hotel H2O if the kids are tired.

During lunch, dinner or any time, Manila Ocean Park has many little places to eat and get something to drink.
While at the park, you are allowed to eat in the restaurants at Hotel H2O.
In addition to the park, there are also several gift shops for the kids and adults to buy a souvenir.
Places to Stay
Finally, the best place to stay if you are going to the Manila Ocean Park is Hotel H2O. Because Hotel H2O shares the same building as Manila Ocean Park, it is the best place to stay while here. Certainly, I would not stay anywhere else.

Get a Park View Room, if you want a lower cost room. Even though the Park View rooms are lower price, they also have a good view of Manila and Ocean Park below. In addition, they have a spectacular view of the Symphony Evening Show.
Try an Aqua-Room if you want to have a full aquarium wall and watch colorful fish swim by. Surely, you will be watching the fish swim for hours.
Book a Bay View Room if you want to see a great view of Manila Bay. Without a doubt, these rooms are the best place to be to watch the sunset.
